Mobile Phone Insurance Price Tracker
It certainly feels as if mobile phone insurance prices for insurance bought from the major networks when buying phones have increased over the years, but there were no hard figures to be had – and if prices are increasing its not something that companies want to publicize.
Here at MobileInsurance.com we decided it would be a great idea to track the prices on a regular basis so we could get some real stats for this for the consumer. With new phones such as the recent iPhone 4 , mobile insurance premiums charged by the networks can be around a third of the price for the actual pay monthly contract rate.

From September 2010, we will present current prices as displayed on the networks websites for phone insurance. Over time , we hope it will present a quick stop resource for consumers and businesses, and also , eventually, be a useful tool for tracking prices as they go up or down.
Most networks set mobile phone insurance costs according to the phone – they will charge much more for the latest iPhone than for a two year old technologically obsolete handset, and will usually have several plans which are difficult to compare across networks. As phones come and go, its also hard to get a decent picture of whether prices are moving upwards or downwards.
However with the iPhone generally being seen as the target for other phones to beat and with it being available across all the major networks, MobileInsurance.com has selected this as the gold standard to track, as typically its the more expensive mobile phones that customers want to insure.
Where possible we will select the networks standard 18 month pay monthly tariff that is closest to 600 voice minutes, in case that has an impact on prices.
